Once Upon A Time

A very long time ago there was an imaginative little girl that dreamt of having many friends from different galaxies. She would wiggle her nose like "Samantha" the character on "Bewitched" and would travel through space and time to be with all her friends from other worlds.

A fairytale you're thinking! Not a chance. That little imaginative girl grew up to become me. My friends are not from outer space but cyberspace. Forget the nose wiggling, I just sign unto my blog and like magic I can visit my friends from all over the world. What a wonderful time we live in.

Aren't you glad you lived this long to enjoy all this new evolving technology? Is there someone deceased that you wish were here to enjoy it?

  1. Sometimes I think I should be living in the 19th century not the 21st! Technology seems to be advancing so quickly, even since the early 80s when my dad had a Vic20 computer and I could make little stickmen dance across a screen. I thought that was amazing - surely nothing could be better than that! Now look at what we can do.

Thanks for the follow, following in return :-)

  2. I think it's wonderful that we can "meet" people all over the world through the internet. There are so many great people out there!

  4. Wouldn't it be great if we could wiggle our noses and transport wishes into reality? Sometimes I love the technology, after-all, two long lost children found me through the internet...sometimes though my head just wants to explode over how fast things keep changing.

  5. On the one hand, I love technology. On the other, I feel like I'm losing more and more "quiet" time for just thinking and being.

    Happy A-Z!

  6. Awesome that you have so many cool people you've met over the blogosphere! This is interesting because there is an article in the Atlantic Monthly about new data that says people who have lots of friends via blogs and Facebook actually are more lonely (spend less time interacting with real people, have self-esteem issues, and lower social skills) than those who do not. I never heard that before. I guess I better be careful. :) Nice blog.

Madeline-sometimes I do have to get away from it, click delete
Julie- the key is balance. You need real and cyberspace friends

  11. It is rather amazing to be able to have contact like the internet provides. But there is also a sad sense of disconnect in that we'll never see most of the people we interact with in cyberspace. It's like having a pen pal except with equal access to a multitude of different people.
